Stand Q4—Magirus (S)
MAGIRUS has only one vehicle on the stand, but at least four vehicles including a "Middle East" artic at the Yorkhill Quay site.
Plated for operation at 30 tons, the 232D 30FK eightwheel tipper on the stand is powered by a Deutz V8 aircooled engine producing 170.5 kW (229bhp) at 2,650rpm and 722Nm (5311bft) torque at between 1,400rprn and 1,700 rpm. The drive-line includes a single-dry-plate clutch, ZF sixspeed AK6-80 constant-mesh gearbox and tandem-drive rear bogie with inter-axle differential lock.
The parallel-section ladder type frame has channel-section side-members with riveted cross-members. Brackets are provided on the frame for body mounting.
The 310D 19FS tractive unit at Yorkhill Quay is fitted with the new Magirus Deutz Super Pullman cab and is offered for inter-continental and Middle East operations. Designed for operation at 38 tonnes (37.4 tons), the lhd unit is fitted with a V10 air-cooled engine producing 242kW (325bhp) DIN net, a ZF eight-speed synchromesh gearbox with extra low crawler and a 13tonne Deutz rear axle with differential lock. Unladen chassis weight is 6.4 tonnes (6.3 tons) and fuel tank capacity is 700 litres (154gal).
The cab has full washing and cooking facilities with fresh-water storage and gasfired hot water heater. Air conditioning and a heat-insulated roof is specified along with sun visors, tinted windscreen and stereo radio/cartridge player.
Other vehicles at Yorkhill Quay include the 232D 16FS 3.2m (10.5ft) wheelbase tractive unit which is designplated for operation up to 38 tonnes (37.4 tons) and fitted with the V8 17IkW (229bhp) air-cooled engine and ZF AK 6-80 six-speed gearbox. And the 232D 24K 6x4 dump truck with standard Magirus Deutz scow-ended body and designed for operation at 24 tonnes (23.6 tons) gvw.
