Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

INSTANT AVAILABILITY is claimed to be the principal advantage of a new protection screen just developed by Northern General.

The screen is manufactured from tough, clear perspex, which is slid into position by the driver when needed. Northern is confident that this system has major advantages over other types tried by the company.

"This idea appears to be the only one that gives the driver worthwhile protection from injury and at the same time deters people from making unwarranted attacks," Mr Brian Hirst, traffic manager, told CM. "Even sophisticated radio cannot save a driver from physical attack."

The screens are also reported to be popular with bus drivers In the area who did not want a permanent fixture which would make them feel caged in.

The screens are manufactured by Northern at Bensham engineering works and the cost, including fitting, is estimated to be around £50 per vehicle.

Northern intends to fit the screens to all one-man-operated vehicles. The o-m-o vehicles will also have a device which operates the horn and indicators in the event of an attack on the driver.
