• The boss of a tipper firm has slammed BS5750, claiming that it is unnecessary for small tipper hauliers.
BS5750 is expensive, said Care foot, and does not lead to higher standards. Instead, he claimed, some tippermen want it only because they fear they would lose customers who demand it.
Carefoot also referred to "socalled expert consultants" on BS5750. He said that many consultants who are hired to advise on preparation for BS5750 are "victims of the recession" who were made redundant and took courses about BS5750, but know little about the tipper industry.
