Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

BRITISH RAIL subsidiary Freightliner has launched a new distribution service called Freightpoint.

The company believes it provides a more cost-effective means of distribution than other companies, offering road or rail transport or a mixture of both.

The service will operate through the company's established network of 25 depots over the UK and its links with Europe. Distribution problems will be worked out by Freightliner's own distribution analysts and a computer can work out the best method of operation.

It has 450 vehicles and 1,100 trailers, backed up by van fleets and other distribution services including warehousing, storage, break bulk, and multi drop.

A spokesman for Freightliner said there had been much interest in the service (which started last month), although no customer figures were yet available. He said the new service was not aimed at any specific market, but hoped for a general interest from anyone involved in distribution.
