Islington has still to finalise its costings of a small vehicle pound which will be needed to house vehicles found to be overloaded, and it seems doubtful whether the GLC's transport committee will be able to discuss the proposal before June at the earliest. July seems a more likely date.
Police officers appear to have been satisfied that the weighbridge can operate from the central reservation of the road, and have witnessed trial runs at the site. As yet, they have given no written recommendation.
