• Proposed increases in Mersey Tunne tolls could provide an additional deterrent t( the commercial traffic using the Port o Liverpool, the transport committee o Liverpool Chamber of Commerce has beei told. It was stated that the propose( increases, in some cases, showed a rise of30 per cent over the present rates on certaii commercial vehicles.
The proposed revision of tolls has beei submitted by the Mersey Tunnel Join Committee to the Secretary of State for th Environment and objections may b submitted until May 15 next.
