Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A fifth-wheel mounting frame with lead-up ramps has been developed by Slaven Transport Products Ltd to augment the company's range of Saddle Mount frames.

It is known as the Skid Mount and has 72in.-Iong angle members bearing on the chassis frame with 40in.-long lead-up ramps designed to give a minimum articulation between the tractive unit and trailer of 8deg.

The unit is supplied with the lead-up ramps attached to the mounting frame and with loose saddle angles and gussets. This enables the unit to be installed at a height to suit the tractive unit without the necessity to pack. Normal mounting height range is 104-in. to 14+in. from the top of chassis to the top of the coupler.

After the Skid Mount has been placed on the tractive unit with the centre of the coupler mounting at the required distance ahead of the drive axle, the frame and ramp assembly is raised until the ramps are just clear of the mud wings, and the saddle angles and gussets are then welded in place. This automatically gives the lowest coupler height possible.

The assembly weighs approximately 240Ib.
