are plans to start a ferry service between Rotterdam and England to carry loaded lorries in both directions. Farm and dairy produce can, it is felt, be moved from Dutch farms to London without transfer of load. Embarkation facilities at Rotterdam have already been built at a cost of £100,000.
Since 1946, Dutch-owned lorries, which handle more than half of the international road transport in western Europe, have earned nearly 10m, in foreign currency.
