THE Indian Government have approved the programme of Asoka Motors for the manufacture of the Leyland Comet in that country. The Tiger Cub lightweight bus will also be manufactured there at a date to he announced later. Other companies which have also had their programme approved are Hindustan Motors, who are to produce Studebaker lorries, Tata Locomotives (Mercedes-Benz) and Premier Automobiles (Dodge, De Soto, Plymouth and Fiat).
