United States oil consumption is no longer sufficient for her requirements and she is now a net importer of oil," said -Mr. Hugh Gaitskell, Minister of Fuel and Power, at a luncheon given in London last week by the American Chamber of Commerce.

"The world demand for petroleum is thus dominated by the level of United States demand, which shows no signs of slackening off," he continued.
