MR. CECIL H. BROADHURST has been appointed advertising manager of C.A.V.-Bosch, Ltd.
Loan BURGHLEY has recently joined the board of directors of the Firestone Tyre and Rubber Co., Ltd, Ma. K. G. FOSTER, chairman of A.R.O. Devon and Cornwall Area, has won the by-election for the St. Germans area of Cornwall County Council.
MR. J. EVAN COOK was recently elected chairman of the London centre of the National Association of Furniture Warehousemen and Removers, whilst MR. R. 1-in.anarr was elected vice-chairman.
MR. A. W. WHEATLEY is in charge of the new depot which has been opened by Worldwin Pistons, Ltd., at 92, London Road, Leicester. He was for many years with Shell-Mex and Br., Ltd., and is now responsible for Worldwin sales in East Anglia.
MR. J. T. CHADWICK, previously sales manager for Scotland of the Laycock Engineering Co., Ltd., has been appointed outside sales manager for Great Britain; he will work under MR. P. E. BairrAiN, sales manager, garage and equipment department. Mr. Chadwick has been on this side of the business for many years, and is well known to the company's customers in Scotland and the North of England.
MR. WILLIAM H. POTTER, traffic manager to Joseph Watson and Sons, Ltd., the soap-making concern, of Leeds, was re-elected chairman of the Leeds Branch of the Industrial Transport Association, last Friday. MR, H. WAUGH, traffic manager to J. Fowler and Co. (Leeds), Ltd., was re-elected vice-chairman. The chairman and MR. H. TUCKWOOD, of Leeds, were appointed delegates -to the National Council.
MR. J. E. R. CRAWFORD has recently been appointed service and export manager of C.A.V.-Bosch, Ltd. MR. B. LEONARD PAGE, who formerly held that position, has taken over another department. Mr. Crawford will control all service arrangements in this country and overseas for both electrical and fuel-injection equipment, whilst he will be responsible for the export sales organization of the company.
SLR JOHN SIDDELEY, C.B.E., J.P., is the new president of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders for the ensuing year, in place of MR. J. ALBERT THOMSON, LL.D., J.P., who becomes deputy president. MR. C. B. NIXON, deputy managing director of Leyland Motors, Ltd., and MR. W. M. W. THOMAS, D.F.C., M.I.A.E., managing director of Wolseley Motors. Ltd.; and a director of Morris Motors, Ltd., have been appointed vicepresidents.
