Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The report in Commercial Motor about the evaluation by Kent County Council of a Belgian road-rail train was extremely interesting (CM 31 January-6 February).

I remember Tilling Stevens of Maidstone, Kent producing a road-rail vehicle for the 1924 British Empire exhibition. It was called the RRR — Road, Rail, Reversible.

It is sad to think that the know-how and ability to build such a vehicle was there in the heart of Kent 70 years ago • . . but is no more. JT Sutton, Bristol.
