penalties faced by drivers who drink and drive to excess in Europe.
Seven countries have a total ban on drinking and driving — but the harshest penalty is in Russia, where a prison sentence of up to 10 years can be imposed on drivers who cause injuries while they are drunk.
Ireland has the most relaxed attitude; it allows drivers 100mWml. However, prisim terms of six months and fines of up to £1,100 can be metedout to those who overstep the mark. The UK's limit of 80mg/ ml is the most common benchmark, with nine other countries opting for this point.
The wallchart also advises on the alcohol levels of different drinks and the possible health effects of over indulgence. Too much to drink and the brain shows signs of "impaired concentration". . . where was I?
