husband owed more than 2,000 in fines and back-duty has finally had her licence renewed for 12 months.

Llanelli-based Nia Margaret Thomas had applied to South Wales LA John Mervyn Pugh to renew her licence for two vehicles and trailers, and to upgrade it from a restricted to a standard national licence.

Thomas was called to a Cardiff disciplinary inquiry, but Mervyn Pugh adjourned the hearing for a week after she had maintained that she had no knowledge of the outstanding fines and back-duty.

When the hearing resumed, Thomas dropped plans to upgrade the licence.
