• Profits at Saab-Scania's truck division fell by 19% in 1990, although the group's profits rose by 35%, according to the group's year-end results.
Scania was hit hard by plummeting truck sales in the UK and Spain, but held its 12% share of the pan-European market, helped by increased sales in Germany.
