• TNT Express has merged its three international operations — TNT Skypak, TNT Mailfast and TNT Express Europe — to form TNT Express Worldwide, said to be the first "one stop shopping" company for worldwide express deliveries.
The move will not affect internal UK road transport operations, which employ 8,000 people, but it will bring together 12,000 employees in 190 countries, operating 2,383 vehicles, under a management team led by chief executive, John Mullen.
The reorganisation is designed to save millions of pounds — but up to 500 jobs could be lost.
