Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Truckrent is believed to be on the verge of finalising the sale of its contract hire business to Ackers Jarrett, one of the UK's largest privately owned contract hire companies.

The deal will bring about 850 vehicles into the Ackers Jarrett fold, together with four sites which Truckrent owns at Peterborough, Leicester, Lincoln and Ipswich.

Birmingham-based Ackers Jarret runs a contract hire fleet of more than 2,000 vehicles from its Darlaston headquarters and six satellite depots nationwide.

Truckrent refused to confirm that Ackers Jarrett is close to buying the business, but admitted negotiations are taking place. The company, which is owned by the Hartwell Group, went on the market last October because Hartwell wanted to concentrate on its core dealership business — it closed its last spot rental sites in December 1990.
