• Foden Trucks is stepping up its attack on the municipal market with the sale of three 17-tonne 2000 Series refuse collection vehicles to Moray District Council Environmental Health Department.
The standard day-cabbed trio have Cummins 6BTA engines rated at 134kW (180hp) and Glover Loadmaster bodies capable of handling a seven-tonne payload.
Although Foden has supplied a number of chassis to municipal operators in the past it is pushing the 17-tonne 2000 Series hard in the municipal market. Gilbert Robertson, chief assistant environmental health, says the 2000 Series' powertrain "easily copes with the workload and continuous operation of the hydraulic system. The combination of high payload, anticipated long lifespan and good value for money made the Foden an attractive proposition."
