Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

WHO NEEDS IT?

William Bryson's comments in the story 'Seddon joins Scottish Boycott' (CM Feb 7) were unfortunate. Of course exhibitors try to get the customers they want onto their stands. But show space is sold to exhibitors on the attendance and cross section of that attendance which previous shows have attracted, plus the efforts that the organisers demonstrate in attracting future visitors. If his comments are the attitude of the SMTA, and I am sure they are not, it looks as if the Scottish combined show is doomed.

We already have to camp out for two weeks at a horrendously expensive Birmingham show because of the badly thought out combination of two previously cost-effective exhibitions. M F Carrington
