A series 400 pneumatic-discharge low-pressure tipping tank has en supplied by R. Murrill Ltd., Weasenham Lane, Wisbech. Cambs. Readymix Hall and Co. Ltd. for carrying cement: it has a capacity 590 cu.ft. and is based on an AEC Mammoth Major 24-ton g.v.w. 3ht-wheeled chassis. In common with all series 400 tanks, this is ui pped with a Murfitt poppet-valve aerator which is claimed to luire very little maintenance compared with aeration pads. The tank s an inside diameter of 6ft 4in. and an overall length of 20ft 6in. It constructed of aluminium NS4 alloy.

Air for discharge is provided by a Wellworthy WS9 Mk. 111 blower at is driven direct from an AEC full-torque power take-off mounted the gearbox. Three loading openings are fitted with pressure type s while access to a walkway on the near side is by means of an minium ladder. An aluminium-alloy hose is carried on each side of s tank and there are two delivery hoses complete with Unicone uplings.

The tank is tipped by a Telehoist FR5-2 10 front-end gear.
