The R-type spring-brake actuator featured Clayton Dewandre Co. Ltd. at the Cornercial Motor Show has now been fully weloped and has gone into production.
Unlike other spring brakes currently avail)1e, this particular design performs only a ngle function. It is based on an original .nerican Maxibrake unit and is primarily tended for the parking-brake system alough there can be applications for secondary aking in some cases. Air pressure maintained Iainst the top of the piston in the actuator )Ids the spring in compression and when the r is exhausted the spring energy acts on the ierating rod to apply the brake.
