Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The section 174 and 178 inquiry into the fleet of Grey Motors Ltd. of Bethesda which commenced in September (CM September 20 1968) and was continued in December (CM December 13), was adjourned yet again in Chester last week. For the applicant, Mr. J. E. Jones said certain information had only come into his possession that morning and without taking instructions he could not do justice to what was a very difficult case.

The North Western LA, Mr. C. R. Hodgson, agreed that a letter sent out by his clerk might require checking and he agreed to adjourn the hearing until March 27. He apologized for the further delay to Mr. R. Wheeler, service manager of Automobile Palace Trucks Ltd., Llandudno, whom he had invited to the Chester inquiry following certain criticisms of his company which had been made in his absence in December. Mr. Wheeler said he had obtained a transcript of that hearing and wished to hand over a resume of his comments on the criticis-ns to the LA and to Grey Motors for their perusal before the resumption of the case next month.

Mr. Hodgson said he had also learned that day from his vehicle examiner, Mr. D. J. Passey, who visited Grey Motors on February 12, that a list of the company's vehicles supplied to him by Mr. L. Williams, a director, showed that only 15 vehicles and four trailers were in possession, in contrast to the 23 vehicles and five trailers sought on the new B licence. He asked that the position be checked because that would give a very different picture.
