Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A case study in public transport has been organized jointly by Planning and Transport Research and Computation Co. Ltd. (PTRC) and Leicester City Transport, to be held in Leicester on March 25-26. The study will be particularly orientated towards general management and management trainees in bus undertakings.

In previous seminars held by PTRC and concerned with public transport management the speakers were mainly operational research workers interpreting bus management problems in terms of their own specialized skills. By contrast, in the new case study the staff of a particular undertaking (Leicester) will give their account of the nature of the problems and their way of tackling them.

The study will be divided into two parts —Transport policy in Leicester and Transport management techniques. Chairman will be Mr. Chaceley T. Humpidge, general manager of Sheffield City Transport, and the seminar will include a tour of traffic management schemes in Leicester and a visit to the Rutland Street closed circuit television /radio-telephone control room.

A £12 attendance charge will apply to non-members; applications should be addressed to PTRC, Vernon House, Sicilian Avenue, Southampton Row, London, WC1. Itel: 01-405 3241).
