It appears that one of the terms of the lease of the tractor works of Henry Ford and Sons, at Cork Park, Cork, stipulates that the company should for a period of five years employ a minimum of 2,900 men. At present only 1,690 men are employed for four days a week, and as a result the Cork Corporation recently came to a decision which, it is easel, may result in the ejection of the company from the works.
• The Corporation has given the company notice calling on them to comply with the covenant, of their lease, and unless this is complied with proceedings may be taken against the company for the cancellation of the lease. Pbe Ford Co. have been working two Shifts, night and day, and in all probability the adieu of the Corporation will compel them to cease the night shift, in order to bring the number of employees up to 2,000.
