Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The general secretary of the C.1k/I.U.A. draws the attention of the owners of all types of motor vehicles, other than motorcycles, to the manner in which they can incur the minimum outlay on licences taken out from the end isf the present winter. Under the terms of the Finance Act, 1920, and of the Road Vehicle (Part Year Licensing) Order, 1921, made under Section 22 of the Finance Act, 1921, it is permitted, on (or 4fter) March 25th, to obtain: licences. for 14 weeks at the quarterly charge, and on for after) July 1st, to obtain a six months' licence st half the yearly rate. It is thus possible for owners of inotorhuses, chars-6.-bancs, vans, lorries or motorcars to obtain licences covering 40 weeks at rates virtually pro rata with the charges for

licences for a complete year. For example, in respect of a country motorbus or char-it-banes chargeable at £60 par annum, the quarter of 14 weeks validity

will cost £18, and the following six months £30, making a total of £48 in respect of 40 weeks, which is equivalent to £60 for 50 weeks.

It is additionally desirable to give a reminder that licences for broken periods of is quarter can be obtained by any motor owner on the first day of the second and third months in any quarter, at two-thirds and one-third of the quarterly rate respectively.
