In connection with the development of Messrs. Cory Bros.' colliery undertakings at Ogmore Vale and Ton Pentre (Rhondda), a first-class road is to be constructed through the hills that divide the two valleys. The road will be only 3 miles long, and will prove a boon to transport. At present there is no direct communication between the Rhondda and Ogmore Valleys, two of the largest Welsh industrial centres, and transport passing from one valley to the other has to make a circuitous journey of over 15 miles.
