The Motor Car Committee of the Hampshire County Council reports that it, has received a complaint from the Eling Parish Council that the notices erected to warn those concerned of the existence of a 10-mile speed limit through Totton are ineffective. Inquiries have been instituted, and the committee feels confident that the provisions of of the order are being complied with. The nature of the background in the case of certain notices has, however,
been found to be such that the notices are not rendered as conspicuous as they might be, and with the view to obviating this, large red discs have been affixed to these notices which make them moat conspicuous.
