Middlesbrough Hackney Carriage and Tramways Committees have held a joint meeting to consider whether lifeguards at the front or sides were necessary on motor omnibuses, and it was decided that they were a danger rather than a protectiom especially so far as children are concerned. The meeting resolved -thee the regulations requiring the provision of lifeguerds should be rescinded and that, in future, these guards should not berequired. It is extremely difficult to appreciate the point of view of the committees.
