Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

'A New Feature to be Made of Trips by 20-seater Pneumatic-tyred Vehicles.

I T MAY be remembered that in 1920 the London General Omnibus Co., Ltd., organized a series of motor coach tours from London, and both in that season and in the succeeding one these trips proved to be exceedingly popular, not only with the Londoner, but with American and other visitors as well. For the forthcoming season the company's intentions are to augment these tours very considerably, and for this reason they will be putting into service, apart from the standard 28-seater motor coach bodies on A.E.C. chassis, a number of 20-seater de luxe models.

The main features of the smaller vehicles will be armchair equipment, pneumatic tyree, And a folding hood, which, when down, is accommodated at the front. We have reason to believe that this is the hood which was designed in the company's own shops and was described in our issue for September 6th. This type of hood does not greatly differ in general design and construction from

the generally conceived typo of hood, and its operation, although performed in the reverse direction' is fundamentally the same. Its main feature—and an

all-important one at that—lies in the aceommo dation of the hood, when lowered, at the front end of the body in a specially shaped recess formed between the dashboard proper and a subsidiary division. By housing the hood in this manner, the weight of the hood (somewhere about 2 cwt.) is removed from a vulnerable point to one where it cannot be tampered with and where adequate support is provided for it.

The 20-seater coaches will be fitted with 30 h.p. engines, will give an average speed of 20 m.p.h., and will be noteworthy for their silentrrtmning and comfortable springing.

The company are adding to their num, bee of day tours at one guinea per head, which includes luncheon and tea, whilst the half-day tours at 7s. which were such a popular feature last season will be extended. Arrangements are also being made with associated companies to inaugurate a number of evening tours at 4s. 6d , which will runs from various

• localities around central London.

In all, eight one-day tours will he run during the season, 14 half-day tours, and 11 evening trips. On all these trips the route has been carefully chosen with a siew to revealing to passengers the beauty spots of the districts through which the vehicles will pass, and a unique feature, and one that is greatly appreciated by passengers, is that a guide is provided on each coach, who duty it is to point out to passengers the landmark passed en route.

We have had the pleasure of participating in one or two of these tours, and we have a great admiration for the arrangements which are made for the passengers' comfort and convenience,
