Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A scheme to rectify thanical faults in light ides, devised and rated successfully over the t four years by Nottinghame Police, is to be adopted police forces throughout the UK.

The scheme gives drivers of car-derived vans and cars the chance to avoid prosecution, just so long as a mechanical fault detected in their vehicle by the police is put right within 14 days by an authorised garage.

A Notts police spokesman told CM that blatant offenders may still be prosecuted, but in 95% of all vehicles stopped the driver will be advised to get the fault fixed. The idea is that this will improve road safety and save police and court time.

The scheme will not be extended to larger panel vans or heavy commercials, which are already covered by a similar system operated by Department of transport vehicle examiners.
