New Companies: Vauxhall/Bedford sales and service facilities in Austria and Italy take a major step forward with the formation of new General Motors companies in these two countries. Previously G.M. operations in Austria and Italy have been handled from Switzerland by General Motors Suisse S.A.
Exports Higher: In 1962 exports of ScaniaVabis vehicles showed an increase of 11 per cent over 1961.
Triplex Expansion: The Triplex Safety Glass Co. Ltd,, Britain's largest safety-glass manufacturer, is to build a factory in Scotland for production of safety glass. The factory will be capable of supplying virtually all the requirements of safety glass for Scotland's new motor-manufactunng and assembly plants.
New in Hungary: The Ikarus concern exhibited a new bus model—the 556—at the Budapest International Fair recently. The Ikarus 556 seats 71 and has an underfloor engine. Another new Ikarus model, specially designed for desert use, was also shown.
Exhibition Space at Munich, 1965: Total exhibition space at the International Transport Exhibition to be held in Munich, Federal Germany, front June 25 to October 3, 1965. will be of some 600,000 sq. yd., including 156,000 sq. yd. under cover.
New Premises: Associated Engineering (Sales) Ltd., Ipswich, has moved to premises at Fore Hamlet, Bishops Hill, Ipswich_ (Telephone No.: Ipswich 55003,) Millionth Mazda: To5:o Kogyo Co. Ltd., of Japan, produced Its millionth vehicle recently, production having started in 1931. Last year alone, 235,455 vehicles were built.
Balligate Progress: Since the first "linebuilt " vehicle came off the Bathgate assembly line in October, 1961, more than 30,000 trucks have been produced. Four hundred diesel engines are now being built every week, By the end of July this figure will have risen to 900 and shortly afterwards will be 1,350.

New Service: From June 5 branches of Aston-Stedall Aluminium Warehouses provided an important new service to aluminium users in the transport industry by way of a new range of transport sections. Designed by Alcan Industries Ltd., they save weight and cost without sacrifice of strength or rigidity.
New Factory: Charrold Ltd. is having a new vehicle body building factory built at its premises in St. Peter's Road, Huntingdon, which should be completed by next September,
