A RECENT publication costing 3s. rA should prqve informative and a quick means of reference for transport operators. It is entitled "Penalties, etc., for the more frequent Road Traffic Offences on Summary Conviction" and is obtainable from Oyez Publications, Oyez House, Brearns Buildings, Fetter Lane, London, E.C.4.

It is printed on card measuring approximately 17 in. by 12 in. when fully extended or 12 in. by 4 in. when folded. It has been compiled and revised by Mr. J. Lionel Wood, formerly clerk to the Worcester City Justices, and consists of a tabulated summary of road-traffic offences under 26 headings, e.g., accident, brakes, false statements, goods vehicles, licences, etc.

Alongside these offences are listed references to the relevant acts or regulations and an indication as to the type of trial and penalty of summary conviction. Further columns provide informa

tion as to the position regarding endorsement and disqualification.

From the same publishers a useful time speed distance chart is obtainable, also priced 3s. and printed on card. It shows at a glance speeds up to 90 m.p.h, and for periods up to 10 sec., the relationship between the three factors of time, speed and distance, with notes on braking and stopping distances. There is also a conversion table relative to m.p.h./ft./sec./

yd./sec. 5.13.
