by the executive council of the National Employers' Association of Vehicle Builders to seek a concession in the purchase tax on goods-vehicle chassis. This is stated in the council's annual report.
Some dissatisfaction with the educational standard of apprentices and their progress is reflected. in the report. Ninety per cent, of boys would fail to achieve managerial status, it is averred.
The association are taking part in moves to introduce a national scheme for apprentice training. A draft scheme prepared by a committee of the employers' 'side of the U.K. Joint Wages Board has been put before the trade unions, who have forwarded their comments to the committee.
