The non-fusion of the Commercial Motor Users Association and the Road Haulage .Association continues to excite comments of regret in Lancashire. Mr. W. E. Macve, speaking as an individual and not in his capacity as chairman of the C.M.U.A„ in Manchester, deplored the failure of the two bodies to arrive at unity, for this had been long desired in the north-west.
Especially did he regret the result, be
cause the three points of difference, out of 10 scheduled, were all financial, and he thought it should have been possible to have adjusted them.

At a meeting of the Crewe Area of the Commercial Motor Users Association, last week, the primary subject was the wages question, and it was decided to press the employers' panel to secure a ruling that this area remains in Grade 3.
