In business since 1997, Atherton runs 10 vehicles on UK and international work. The work includes transporting packaging, child car seats and pushchairs. One vehicle has a regular run to Switzerland. At 37, he says he is younger than most operators,
"Maybe I have a less jaded view and am more accepting of the way things are." He is sceptical of campaigns to cut fuel costs because he believes that would lead to a reduction in rates.
