Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ISUZU UK HAS taken the bold step of making its automatic transmission the standard offering in its improved 7.5-tonner,due for launch in July.

The new truck, previewed at the Commercial Vehicle Show earlier this year, features a new common-rail diesel engine, a new automatic transmission and improvements to the cab comfort. "We've spoken to customers," says Isuzu UK managing director Nikki King, "and they've confirmed our initial feelings that the gearbox works well and is extremely smooth. Isuzu has been selling the transmission for the past couple of years in Japan, so it's well proven in service." The manual transmission will be available as an option.

This model revision will tide Isuzu over until the all-new range of products is launched at the back end of 2007, says King. The new line-up, which will see Isuzu compete in the 3.5to 18tonne gvw sector of the market, will feature a brand new cab and fully updated drivel ine.

"It's our current plan to stop at 18 tonnes," King adds."We're not that interested in the tractor market. It's an oversubscribed sector and there's no money it.

"The current Isuzu tractor is a long way from being a tractor for the UK," she says.
