• Commercial vehicle and car parts distributor Edmunds Walker is set to be sold to Stratford-upon-Avon-based Finelist for £20m. The sale of the loss-making Unipart Group-owned company, which reported a 22.4m operating loss on a turnover of £69.2m for the year ended 3 January, ends long speculation about the company. Edmunds Walker trades under names including Walter Moss, Berite and JTS, supplying parts to operators, workshops and garages from its 100 branches. About 1,000 branch staff jobs involved will transfer but it is understood there will be administrative job casualties among around 100 staff at Unipart's Cowley headquarters, Finelist will fund the cash deal with a rights issue if an extraordinary general meeting on 18 July approves the move.
