• Stunt driver Steve Murty, who cheated death two weeks ago in a horror crash performing a 200kmp/1 wheelie, has vowed to return to the controls of his Wheelie Truck in time for Expo Truck 88 at Aintree over the August Bank Holiday.
In an exclusive interview from his hospital bed, Murty told Commercial Motor that the tyres survived intact. "The cause of the accident was due to the totally unexpected failure of the hydraulic system which controls the vehicle when the nose drops back to the ground," said Murty.
