the UK and Western Europe following talks with a British motor design consortium which included the Sussex engineering firm, International Automotive Design.
The vans — produced in Soviet Azerbaijan — could be on sale here by 1991, and will be distributed by Western Motors. Two versions of the model are planned, says board member John Garfield.
The Russian factory — financed by the Moscow Narodny Bank — will also turn out minibuses and service vehicles which will be sold in the Soviet Union under the Kiaz badge. No decision has yet been made on whether they will be sold in the West as Kiaz or Ladas.
