• Transport and manufacturing giant Bunzl is putting its parcel, groupage, distribution and specialist interests under a newly-formed umbrella group, United Carriers International, as part of a rationalisation programme following its sales of trailer manufacturer York.
United Carriers' five divisions will be: O Express parcels: United Carriers and Ripponden Services
ID European groupage: Thompson Jewitt International
O Warehousing, distribution and contract services: Robsons O Textile and garments: Scorpio Group O Shipping, automotive and forest products: Mann Group.
United Carriers' chief executive will be Allan Binks, reporting to Bunzl joint managing director Brian Ford.
