• Truck rental company Hill Hire, Northern industrial group Sir James Hill's first venture into commercial vehicles, has opened this week in Bradford, offering 80 Leyland Daf trucks and 120 trailers. It plans to move rapidly into contract hire, form a finance company and open more UK depots in the next five years.
Hill Hire's first outlet at Bradford's Euroway Industrial
Estate, has service bays, paint shops and chassis straightening facilities. Director Norman Marks, recruited from Lloyds Bowmaker, says the emphasis will be on quality. "We do not aim to be the cheapest," he admits. Marks is joined by rental manager Adrian Kilvington, who was with Interleasing.
