• Japanese motor manufacturers have voluntarily agreed to limit their exports to the EEC to 1.21 million CVs and cars in 1988.
This will mark Japan's lowest level of vehicle export growth since 1986, but it still dashes EEC motor manufacturers' hopes that Japanese companies would peg their vehicles exports at the 1985/86 level of 1.05 million light CVs and cars.
