Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

FERRYMASTERS' Groupage Division has introudced a twice-weekly Danish express service in both directions. Doorto-door transit times are 3-4 days.

The service offers weekend and mid-week departures from the company's main depots at Glasgow, Warrington, London and Lutterworth. UK import trailers depart from Ferrymasters' depots at Copenhagen and Esbjerg on a similar schedule. Bilingual Danish drivers and dedicated trailer equipment are used in the new operation.

In addition, a minimum of three unaccompanied departures to and from Denmark each week continue in parallel with the new service — which was introduced to meet the rising freight demand in the AngloDanish trade, says Ferrymasters.

There is a facility for warehousing in the UK and both Danish depots.

"Denmark has contributed significantly to the 30% growth in our total business since the division was set up in early 1983," said divisional managing director Dr Mike Monaghan. "Uprating our Danish service quality and options is part of a strategy to further increase market share this year," he added.

Ferrymasters now offers 40 scheduled departures weekly from the UK to the markets of Scandinavia, western Europe and France.
