Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A NEW £25,000 tyre retreading plant has opened at BRS Midlands' Northampton branch. BRS Midlands will use it to remould tyres on its own vehicles and provide a service to operators in Northamptonshire.

The equipment comprises the latest Kentredder inspection, buffing and moulding machines, which provide tyre remoulds in various sizes.

An experienced tyre specialist, Chris Beavers, has been recruited to manage the remoulding operation at the branch on Lodge Farm Industrial Estate.

BRS says that the introduction of the new service is part of the company's policy of diversifying its range of engineering services. It anticipates significant cost savings will be achieved by providing the company's branches with an "in house" tyre remoulding facility.

BRS Midlands' engineering services manager, Dennis Taylor, says that savings of £75,000 a year would be achieved if the plant was used to remould just 30 tyres a week from the company fleet.
