CARL F. LEVY has been appointed chairman of Seddon Atkinson Vehicles Ltd. The appointment follows the purchase of Seddon Atkinson by ENASA in March of this year. Gerry Woodhead continues as before, as managing director. Based at Seddon Atkinson's London office, Mr Levy will be responsible for the company's future strategy, including plans to move into export markets.
Mr Levy was director general of ENASA in Madrid. He also held the post of vice president of International Harvester's African, Middle Eastern and European Truck Group operations incorporating responsibility for Seddon Atkinson.
He trained as an engineer before progressing into product planning and general management. He has been involved in various Ford activities including chief executive of Ford Norway, Ford France and Ford Spain.
JOHN MIDLANE has been appointed managing director of Rentco International Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fruehauf Corporation.
He will be responsible for Rentco's trailer rental operations in France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Sweden, Finland, Ireland and the UK. The appointment completes the integration of the Rentco companies throughout Europe. The day-today operations of Rentco Nationwide and Rentco Ireland remain unchanged.
John Midlane joined Rentco from Hertz 11 years ago and has since held the positions of regional manager, operations director and managing director of Rentco Nationwide.
