Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A body demounting kit known as the Bodylift is the first venture to be produced and marketed by Freightaids Ltd, Studland Road, Northampton, a new company that has been formed to manufacture a range of standard equipment designed for bodybuilders to incorporate in their own products. A vehicle fitted with a Freightaids system was demonstrated for the first time on Tuesday at the Chrysler UK Ride-and-Drive transport show at London Airport. Today is the last day of the show.

A kit basically comprises a pair of chassis-mounted frames each Of which is equipped with two 21in. dia hydraulic rams that have a lift of 14in. and is used in conjunction with support-leg body attachments that have adjustable telescopic extensions. Power is provided by an electro-hydraulic power pack, developed by Smiths Industries, which is operated by a hand-held control box connected to a wander lead. The power pack can be operated on 12V or 24V, and the rams have a lifting capacity of 16 tons. Equipping a chassis and two bodies with the system costs £1000.

It is claimed that attachment of the lifting gear to a chassis and of a reinforcing sub-frame to a body could normally be completed in 17 man-hours.

A body-design service is offered by Freightaids to advise builders on the most suitable methods of strengthening the structure to cater for the bending loads created by the rams. Vehicles equipped with the systems have been operated in service by a number of large operators to evaluate its merits.
