Travel plans
The Department of the Environment. Transport and the Regions (DETR) has commissioned research into the Green Travel Plans which were a major feature of the Government White Paper on the Future of Transport. The study will: • look at the costs and benefits of the plans to employers; • identify barriers to their implementation. The findings will be published in a draft guide by April 1999.
Advisory report
The Advisory Committee on Business and the Environment (ACBE), in association with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions, has published its eighth report*, which contains 50 recommendations to encourage companies to take action on issues such as climate change, transport policy and sustainable consumption, as well as the Government's response to each of the recommendations.
