Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

by Bryan Jarvis • Iveco will be introducing an all new Oldham-built low-step refuse collection vehicle at next week's Brussels Truck Show.

It will appear alongside the new Cursor 8equipped EuroTrakker and the EuroTech with EuroTronic transmission.

The new waste collection chassis-cab, called EuroMover on the Continent, is the first Iveco vehicle to be built by Seddon Atkinson for export to other European markets.

Details of the new municipal truck are being kept under wraps until the show, but it will certainly have the very latest Iveco Euro-3 driveline with the Allison transmission and an all-new easy-access cab with wide, plug-type doors similar to those already used on coaches.

Dedicated UK versions with a choice of hinged or plug doors will be launched at the SMMT show in March—the British name has yet to be decided.

Building for the Iveco group at Oldham is nothing new for Seddon, which already produces light eightwheeler EuroTrakkers. This could be extended to include three-axled versions and a wide range of gas-powered vehicles.

At present its output is between 900 and 1,000 chassis a year with single shift working, but with a probable increase in demand from within the Iveco group, Seddon Atkinson certainly has the ability to double its output with little difficulty.

The EuroMover municipal chassis is a major step for Seddon Atkinson—it is a product of the huge Iveco investment in the facilities at the Oldham site.
