shbourne-based AK Transport fell foul of the latest round of truck thefts in Derbyshire earlier this month, when its two-tone blue Mercedes-Benz 1635 was stolen from its yard.

The liveried 4x2 tractor unit, registration D186YFW, went missing on Wednesday 16 December between 20:10hrs and 22:15hrs. It can be identified by chassis number 64512225304438 and engine number 42295020010453.

Owner Tony Kent is thankful he lost only the truck which he values at around £10,000. It was unhitched from a 12m AHP tri-axle flatbed which was loaded with limestone and left in the yard.

The construction and building materials haulier lost a trailer around four and a half years ago, when Kent says the last truck theft epidemic hit Derbyshire.
