Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Leyland Daf has dismissed suggestions that it is about to fit a Daf engine in its 8x4 Constructor chassis. Although Daf engines can be specified in 2420 6x4 Constructors, LD says that it has no plans to fit the 197kW (265hp) Daf DHS825 charge-cooled engine, which is already fitted in the Daf FAD 2500 chassis, in its eight-legger Constructor.

According to the company, it is "not its policy to drop proprietary engines from its truck range". Leyland Daf will continue to offer the four-axle Constructor with the choice of either a Cummins LTA-10 engine or a Perkins Eagle 800, alongside its own 194kW (265hp) Leyland-built TL11C power unit.

Leyland Daf has now "officially" discontinued the option of the Gardner 6LXCT engine in the Constructor, but in fact Gardner says that it has not supplied 6LXCTs to Leyland for the Constructor for well over a year, due to poor operator demand.
